Resource Virtualization

Virtual infrastructure allows you to look at the computer systems currently used from a different perspective.

With implemented virtual infrastructure, the user has at his disposal many times greater computational resources on the same hardware platform. These resources allow for optimal and efficient management of the existing infrastructure across the entire enterprise.

What is virtual infrastructure?

Virtual infrastructure architecture enables an enterprise to reduce IT system costs by increasing efficiency and flexibility and accelerating response. Virtual infrastructure management allows the IT department to quickly allocate resources to business needs (you can create a new server in a matter of minutes).

This allows for easy and convenient offering of new services and changing the amount of resources allocated to a given application. A data processing center can be treated as a uniform pool of resources, such as computing power, mass memory and network bandwidth.

Implementing a virtual infrastructure enables IT to better respond to business needs, including:

– increasing the utilization rate of servers with x86 processors (IA 32 and AMD 64) to 60-80% (from the current 5-10%),
– reducing the time needed to configure new applications from several days to several dozen seconds,
– shortening the response time to change requests to a few minutes,
– servicing equipment without downtime and without waiting for the “service window” (planned service downtime).

Virtualization is a solution that helps an enterprise significantly reduce costs, respond more quickly to business needs, and provide flexible and consistent IT services.

Cost reduction:

– pay only for the resources you need,
– higher effectiveness of IT investments (lower depreciation costs and operating costs),
– easier separation of strategic IT investments from routine IT system functions.

More flexible and coherent IT services:

– leveraging technologies for which costs have already been incurred, such as storage area networks (SANs) and virtual local area networks (VLANs),
– ability to choose cheaper platforms; reducing risk and improving response.

Faster response to business needs:

– easier integration with partners and clients,
– faster performance of tasks related to expansion, management and administration,
– faster deployment of resources or transferring them to organizational units that need them.
